This interactive session will map the opportunities to reimagine the future. Dr. McLemore will use evidence to activate the participants to reimagine their work and end with a call to action. Using a combination of lecture, audience engagement, call and response, and self-reflection, Dr. McLemore will curate a dream to action space that should provide novel energy to birth equity and reproductive justice momentum sparked by the 30-year anniversary of this powerful analytic tool, framework, theory, and praxis.

Monica R. McLemore, PhD, MPH, RN

Dr. Monica McLemore is a tenured professor in the Child, Family, and Population Health Department and the Director of the Manning Price Spratlen Center for Anti-Racism and Equity in Nursing. She currently holds the Endowed Professorship and Lecture in Health Promotions. She retired from clinical work in 2019; however, currently provides flu and COVID19 vaccines.

Her research is focused on reproductive health, rights, and justice. Her peer reviewed articles, OpEds and commentaries have been cited in six amicus briefs to the Supreme Court of the United States and three NASEM reports. She became Editor in Chief of Health Equity in 2022.
